The National PFAS Contamination Coalition brings together grassroots organizations from across the country to share knowledge, organize locally, and advocate for solutions to the PFAS crisis.

Who Are Our Members?

Our members form a diverse, nationwide network of impacted residents, community leaders, scientists, health advocates, and grassroots organizations united by a shared reality: PFAS contamination has affected our lives, families, and communities. From parents fighting for safe drinking water to community scientists documenting local exposures, each member brings lived experience, dedication, and critical local knowledge.

Together, we build collective strength—sharing resources, amplifying community voices, and organizing for change. As a coalition, we work to protect public health, demand accountability from polluters and policymakers, and ensure that no community faces PFAS contamination alone.

Amara's Law

Amara’s Law is Minnesota’s groundbreaking policy that bans the use of many toxic PFAS chemicals in everyday products. Named in honor of Amara, a child affected by PFAS exposure, the law protects families by phasing out harmful PFAS from items like cookware, clothing, carpets, and personal care products. It ensures stronger transparency, pushes manufacturers to stop using “forever chemicals,” and sets a national example for putting community health before corporate pollution.

Pease Study

The Pease Health Study, a landmark investigation into the impacts of PFAS exposure around the former Pease International Tradeport site in New Hampshire, involved thousands of residents, children and workers who were exposed via contaminated drinking water. Andrea Amico, a local mother and advocate whose family was directly impacted, co-founded the community group that helped initiate and guide the study. Her leadership has been central in elevating the voices of those affected.

Goldman Environmental Prize

Laurene Allen, a Merrimack, New Hampshire resident turned community advocate, helped expose PFAS contamination after her town’s water was found polluted in 2016. With no formal science background, she educated herself, organized neighbors, partnered with researchers, and co-founded Merrimack Citizens for Clean Water. Her advocacy brought national attention to PFAS harms and pressured regulators to act.

United Nations Human Rights Defender

Emily Donovan, co-founder of Clean Cape Fear, has become a leading voice for communities harmed by PFAS contamination in North Carolina. Her advocacy, from securing safer water solutions for schools to speaking before Congress — helped elevate PFAS exposure as a human-rights concern. Her work was recognized by the United Nations Human Rights Council, naming her a Human Rights Defender for her efforts to hold polluters accountable and protect affected families.

When communities connect, their voices grow stronger. Together, NPCC members are building a national movement for clean water and public health.
