Communities United Against PFAS Contamination

A national coalition advocating for clean water, accountability, and health protections.
National PFAS Coalition organizing

United by Contamination, Organized for Change

The National PFAS Contamination Coalition formed in 2017 when community leaders from across the country gathered in Boston to confront a growing crisis—PFAS contamination affecting people in many different ways. Some communities discovered toxic chemicals in their drinking water, while others were exposed through firefighting foam and gear, industrial air emissions, contaminated farmland, or nearby manufacturing facilities.

Though their experiences differed, they shared the same challenge: protecting their families, communities, and livelihoods from harmful chemicals. Today, the coalition connects impacted communities nationwide to share knowledge, support local organizing, and build a stronger national movement for accountability and lasting solutions to PFAS contamination.

The National PFAS Contamination Coalition brings together communities nationwide confronting PFAS contamination.

Our Values

The principles that guide how we work with communities, partners, and policymakers.
National grassroots pfas action in Washington DC

Community Leadership

Impacted communities must lead decisions about their health, water, and future. Those living with PFAS contamination bring the lived experience needed to drive meaningful solutions.

Transparency

Communities have a right to clear, honest information about PFAS contamination and its health risks. We work to share scientific research, community data, and lived experiences so people can understand the threats they face and advocate for meaningful protections.

Accountability

Polluters must be responsible for the contamination they caused. We advocate for strong laws, enforceable standards, and cleanup that protects communities and the environment.

Collaboration

No community should face PFAS contamination alone. We connect communities, scientists, health experts, and advocates to share knowledge and strengthen the movement for national change.

These values guide how the coalition works with communities, scientists, and policymakers to confront PFAS contamination and protect public health.
